Welcome.

Hope & sorrow. Joy & grief. I didn’t know it was possible to hold them together— that I didn’t have to put one down in order to pick the other up. As I’ve walked this journey, I’ve discovered that we find Jesus in our deepest pain. He enters into our brokenness and gives Himself to us. May you find deep comfort in my words, knowing this story is for you, too.

My desire is to come alongside you, wherever you find yourself in life. Perhaps you feel stuck? My guided journey may be just what you need to help you navigate the low grade grief you feel. Perhaps you need someone to seek the Holy Spirit with you? Spiritual Direction may be your next right step. Or maybe you’re just looking for a listening ear? I’d love to hear from you. My contact form is waiting for you.

In case you feel alone today, let me tell you that while my life is full and wonderful and good, there’s a thread of sorrow that weaves itself through each day. What you don’t see in our family pictures is a sweet girl who would be 16. Our daughter Annie lived just 6 months, diagnosed with a brain tumor only four days before she died. You don’t see my dad, who died almost five years ago and left us reeling. You can’t see how we uprooted our family after 19 years and moved our teenagers to a new state, wondering every second if it was the right decision. As a pastor’s family, we’ve walked with countless families as they’ve grieved. I know what it’s like to have your life shattered. I know how it feels to question your faith. To wonder why God is silent. I’ve been there, too.

I don’t know your story, but I do know that you don’t have to choose either hope or sorrow. You can hold both, together, and at the same time.

There is beauty in our brokenness, because Christ enters into it with us, and He promises to lead us. You don’t have to know all the answers or next steps. You just need to take one step at a time.

Love,

Sarah
